Turkey's Borcelik will double CR capacity and install HDG line |
| Borcelik, member of Borusan
group, is to invest $140m in increasing its cold rolling capacity to
700,000 t/y and install a 350,000 t/y Extragal galvanising line, by 2003. Usinor is expanding its holding in Borcelik to 21.96%, from 12.54%. The strategic management of Borcelik will from now on be executed jointly by the two groups. In 2000, about 70%of Borceliks sales of 463,000t were made in the domestic market. 40% of the exports went to North America.
