Tunisia commissioned the first phase of its upgraded bar mill |
| Tunisias Intermetal commissioned the
first phase of its upgraded bar mill from Danieli,. Phase 2 of the
company's modernization , the continuous roughing / intermediate mill,
which will take capacity to 300,000 t/y - is due to be commissioned in
March/April 2002. Current bar sales from the 6,000 t/month mill are largely in the domestic market. However, the new line is likely to mean a significant rise in exports of debar and merchant bar, both in the Mediterranean area and in Africa south of the Sahara. |
