new melt shop at khorasan steel complex - iranIslamic Republic of Iran commissioned its new melt shop at Khorasan Steel Complex successfully on 02/02/2002 . The plant is designed for annual production of 650.000 tons liquid steel through a 110-ton EAF/LF root using scrap iron or DRI. A 6-strand billet caster is installed downstream of the melt shop to supply 150x150 or 130x130 mm. billets to the light section rolling mill of the complex which is in operation since June 2001. The plant which has been supplied by Italian company DANIELI is producing bars, rebars, equal angles and channels at rate of 550.000 TPY.
