Kharafi National will supply 60 km steel pipeline from Kuwait Pipe Industries

A contract has been awarded to Kuwait’s Kharafi National for the supply and installation of a pipeline from Rawdhatain in Kuwait to Umm Qasr in Iraq. The cross border pipeline, known as the Friendship Pipeline, is funded by the Kuwaiti government and will deliver up to 1 million litres a day of potable water to the local population.
The project involves the installation of 60 kilometers of 20-30-inch diameter pipeline and related facilities. Kuwait Pipe Industries has been subcontracted to supply the carbon steel pipeline.
The project is fast track to meet the immediate needs of the local population in the southern province of Iraq.
 
 

9 companies pre-qualified for tender 157km ductile pipes

The Ministry of Electricity & Water pre-qualified 9 companies, to submit bids by 18 February for supply of 157 kilometers of ductile iron pipeline with joints for new water lines in Kuwait.
107 kilometers in diameter 1.200mm, and 50 kilometers in diameter 800mm.
 

KPIOSC cooperates with Bentek Germany for oil rig construction and repairs

The Kuwait Pipe Industries and Oil Services Company (KPIOSC) has agreed to cooperate with Germany’s Bentek Company in oil rig reconstruction and repairs, reported KUNA. The German firm will use KPIOSC’s installations to manufacture and remanufacture oil rigs and auxiliary equipment while searching for a market for its products in the Middle East.

Established in 1966, KPIOSC is a pipe manufacturer and pipeline contractor. The company also provides a range of technical and engineering services in the pipe and oil services sectors.

KPIOSC's production facilities comprise approximately 250,000 square meters in Kuwait's Sulaibiya Industrial District. Several thousand kilometers of the company's pipelines are currently serving industries and communities throughout Asia and Africa as well as Middle East.
 

Tender for stadium extended.

 Bid deadline for the Shaikh Jaber al-Ahmed international stadium project in Ardiya has been extended to 12 November by "The Public Authority for Youth & Sports" . The estimated $97 million project involves the construction of a 60,000-seat stadium. It will have stands covered by a cable net structure between an outer ring of steel and an inner tension ring of fibre glass. The Kuwaiti "Projacs" is project manager, and a joint venture of Germany’s Weidel plan and the Kuwaiti Seif Engineering Consultants are consultants for the project
 

A Kuwaiti-Iranian joint venture called Unisteel, began commercial production of rebars in Kuwait

This new rolling mill has a capacity of 500,000 t/y, aiming to produce in the 1e year about 300,000 tons.
Initial sales will be focused to the local Kuwaiti market and the Saudi market.
The Kuwait consumption of rebar is close to 350,000 t/y.
Billets will likely be imported from Turkey, Iran, and East European countries
The plant was financed 51% by Kuwaitis private sector, and 49% by National Iranian Steel Co. VAI was the plant builder.
