Libya’s Lisco is considering raising its crude steel capacity

Libya’s Lisco is considering raising its crude steel capacity to 2m t/y from the current 1.2m t/y, an official at the company tells Steel Business Briefing. Last year, the company produced about 1m t/y of crude steel.
Lisco seemingly plans to upgrade/increase the capacity of three of its six EAFs, and is currently looking at modes of investments. The new output would be rolled into longs, mainly rebar for the domestic and export markets, the company adds.
