INTRODUCTION:

CRU is delighted to announce that the 22nd World Steel Conference will take place in Düsseldorf. The area around Düsseldorf is home to a high concentration of steel mills, service centres and steel intensive manufactures. The location offers the ideal opportunity to combine networking with top steel industry executives with practical site visits to the thyssenkrupp and ArcelorMittal facilities.

The 22nd World Steel Conference will discuss a range of issues that will greatly influence the outcome of the current status quo. Leading steel company executives and industry commentators will discuss the extent to which huge Chinese steel mill losses and tighter credit conditions will lead to capacity reduction. They will examine the extent to which Chinese steel demand will continue to grow. They will discuss where and when China will be granted market economy status and the implications this will have for the steel industry. They
will also provide you with informed opinion about many other issues not directly related to China but of critical concern. These will range from European steel industry competitiveness, to steel demand, to raw materials.

The conference will explore the changing nature of the steel business and will aim to give executives a steer on what success will look like in steel in the future.

In addition to the benefits offered by the event location and the excellent range of presentations, the conference will attract delegates representing the full spectrum of commercial interests of steel consumers, steel-makers, service centres and raw materials suppliers.
