As a bridge between Europe and Asia, Turkey enjoys an important strategic role in the oil and gas markets with a developed tube and pipe production base ideally positioned to supply export markets in a number of industries.

2007 was a good year for tube and pipe makers in Europe. High oil prices saw record profits posted by oil and gas majors and the markets in the large diameter welded pipe and OCTG remained favourable. Demand from the mechanical engineering industry surpassed expectations and 2007 saw excellent results for many German precision tube makers. Demand pressure from international competition was felt most acutely in the small diameter welded pipe sector.

There are growing concerns about Chinese trade and export rebate tax policies. These could have significant implications for European producers both directly through imports and indirectly through anti dumping measures in North America.

Many of the most influential executives in the seamless and welded tube and pipe markets will discuss the challenges and opportunities facing them at Metal Bulletin Event’s Steel Tube and Pipe Conference. With over 200 international delegates expected to attend. You will have unrivalled high level networking opportunities and an opportunity to hear the views that really matter.
