Introduction

The conference is supported by the Ministry of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russia-Iran Business Council, the Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce, and the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Mines.

Of the 37 steel projects in the Persian Gulf at varying stages of completion, 18 are located in Iran. Almost USD 14 bn worth of steel projects are underway in Iran. Of all the Middle East countries, Iran is the only one that is not heavily dependent on imports of iron ore or coal for steel production. The country has significant iron ore reserves, estimated at 4.5 billion tons, spread across five main locations. It also has considerable quantities of coal, one of the Iran's other major advantage is its access to gas. The country sits on the world's 2nd natural gas reserves after Russia. Another eventual advantage is the country less manpower cost.

Despite having all the required parameters needed to be a successful & self-sufficient steel producer, Iran has been importing ever-increasing amounts of steel since past decade or more.

In such a scenario, one would be keen to know,

  • What are the problems / challenges that are preventing Iran from becoming self-sufficient in steel production?

  • What are the prospects of investment into Iran steel industry?

  • How is the general situation in the market for steel, semis, raw materials?

  • What are international trade prospects?

  • How is the infrastructure & logistical support?

To get answers to all the above questions and interact with leading decision makers of the region and elsewhere, register here.

Who will attend?

Top managers of local mills and trading companies, exporters from Russia, CIS, China, and other countries, raw materials suppliers, market analysts, and all who are interested in working in this promising market will meet in Tehran to discuss vital issues on the market, to make forecasts for the future, and to gain new business relations in the region.
